Kenya Airways reveals how much Kenyans will pay for a flight ticket to the US
Kenya Airway's maiden direct flight from Nairobi to New York will be on October 28, 2018.
Travellers heading to the USA will from October 28, be able to fly directly from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport using Kenya Airways.
“This is an exciting moment for us. It fits within our strategy to attract corporate and high-end tourism traffic from the world to Kenya and Africa. We are honored to contribute to the economic growth of Kenya and East Africa.” said Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO Sebastian Mikosz during the launch event.
The airline has opened ticket sales on the airline's website and through agents. Those booking early will be able to get tickets for as low as $815 (Sh84,000) with returns return tickets set to retail from Sh106,000.
The trans-Atlantic flights, scheduled to depart Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 10:30pm every day, will last 15 hours. This is a departure from the previous flight time of 22 hours including lengthy layovers passengers from JKIA had to cope with using connecting flights.
