Madaraka Express is operating business as usual as Kenya goes to the poll

Commuters wishing to travel to Mombasa from Nairobi and vice versa using the Madaraka Express will be able to do so without any hitch.

Commuters wishing to travel to Mombasa from Nairobi and vice versa using the Madaraka Express will therefore be able to do so without any hitch.

Kenya Railways through a notice to the public posted on their Facebook page alerted commuters not to change their travel plans during the repeat of the Presidential election date.

This is different from the August 8 general elections when the service was suspended for a day to allow its staff to vote.

We shall have the first schedule interruption on the service on August 8, 2017 due to the national elections.” Kenya Railway Managing Director Atanas Maina said.

It will not be business as usual for Nairobi Commuter Railway however  which has suspended its services on Thursday due to the polls and will instead resume its services on Friday.

Since its first ride on May 31st, Madaraka Express has become one of the most popular means of transport between Nairobi and Mombasa due to its affordable nature and shorter time.
