On Monday, Uhuru cancelled a scheduled tour to Samburu and Marsabit today, sparking speculations that the president would attend the presidential debate facing off with his main challenger, NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga.
However, this was not the case as Raila was the only one who turned up for the second part of the debate for over one-and-a-half hours.
Jubilee vice chairman David Murathe said Uhuru can answer questions from the public on live TV without being distracted and the President later planned for town hall discussions.
DP Ruto also failed failed to show up for the running-mates debate which was held last week.
