The Nairobi County boss has picked The Star Editor in Chief Charles Kerich to be the county executive heading the Department of ICT and E-Government.
Kerich, who is also the Chairman of the Media Council of Kenya, has over twenty years of experience and is a regular at NTV’s popular programme, Press Pass.
The veteran journalist now awaits approval from the Nairobi County Assembly after which he will serve in Sonko’s inaugural cabinet.
The Nairobi Governor has indicated that he will be seeking to have a team of qualified professionals in his cabinet even as he seeks to reward his campaigners and supporters.
"As I have stated, I remain committed to ensuring Nairobi's next administration is all-inclusive and reflects the face of Kenya and the cosmopolitan nature of Nairobi,” Sonko stated in a past interview.
The ICT nominee holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a masters in International Studies.
