The strategy has been cleverly crafted to be in line within the confines of the law to ensure that there shall be no elections on the said date.
Article 138 (2) of the Constitution states that on the procedure of presidential elections, if two or more candidates are nominated, an election shall be held in each constituency.
Most of the country's lawyers admit that the presidential elections will become null and void if a constituency or some constituencies do not participate in the process.
According to the Star, this is what Odinga and his team are banking on to stall the electoral process.
The NASA brigade commands a huge following in almost half the country including its perceived strongholds of Nyanza, Coast, Western and lower Eastern as well as some parts of the Rift Valley including Narok, Turkana and Kajiado.
The coalition have been categorical in their calls saying that they would not boycott the elections but instead there will be no elections leaving many including the Jubilee team led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy what exactly they mean by that.
If the NASA team convinces its staunch supporters not to turn up to vote in the repeat polls, then they could ensure the process is declared null and void plunging the country further into deeper constitutional crisis.
On Sunday, Odinga said there would be no election next month if the IEBC fails to address conditions set by them.
Among their irreducible minimums according to Mr Odinga is the removal of IEBC chief executive officer Ezra Chiloba.
He also called for the revocation of the tenders to ICT firm OT-Morpho and Al-Ghurair printing company for participating in what he says was the rigging of the recent elections in favour of Jubilee.
