Chebukati warned Kenyatta and Odinga to keep off IEBC stating that he would not allow anyone to plunge the country into chaos.
He called on the two candidates to dialogue ahead of the repeat poll slated for next week saying that, "it is difficult to guarantee free, fair and credible elections."
“I am convinced that without critical changes in key secretariat staff, we may not have a free, fair and credible election. I ask the staff who have been adversely mentioned to step aside and allow the project team to function without interference,” Chebukati stated.
In a rejoinder, Ruto has has hit back and warned Chebukati to stop lecturing them and prepare to oversee the elections.
"Chebukati should stop lecturing us and oversee the elections. He is not doing us & we need no favours. Btw we won on 8/8 fair and square," the DP said.
It now remains uncertain whether the elections will proceed as planned with Odinga announcing that they would hold the mother of all demos on October 26, during the election day.
On the other hand, Kenyatta has maintained that the Elections will go on and declined to negotiate with the former Prime Minister.
