After the announcement, Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino was on Wednesday evening re-arrested outside Milimani Law Courts over a past assault case during the legislator’s time as the University of Nairobi leader.
The MP was re-arrested shortly after he was freed on a Sh500,000 cash bail with two sureties of Sh1 million, after denying the charges levelled against him.
Police pounced on Owino moments after he walked to freedom at the Milimani Law Courts.
He had spent two nights in police cells after he was arrested over derogatory utterance against the Presidency.
The MP is facing two charges of subverting justice and making statements to create disaffection against the Presidency.
