Several others were rushed to hospital in critical condition with fears that the casualties could rise.
The accident occurred at Sogea along the Naivasha-Gilgil when the bus which was heading to Nairobi attempted to overtake another vehicle before colliding head on with a trailer heading in the opposite direction.
Area OCPD Emmanuel Opuru confirmed the accident.
